Live Performances

The cornerstone of a Project VOICE visit is a live performance of award-winning poetry. Armed with only a microphone, Project VOICE poets are champions of vulnerability, cheerleaders for the unexpected, and ruthless flashlights for all your heart’s nooks and crannies. Both accessible and innovative, a Project VOICE performance not only entertains, but also inspires and encourages students to create their own work. For audiences who are new to the medium, this performance is the perfect introduction to the magic of spoken word poetry. For long-time spoken word fans, this show also promises to surprise and reinvigorate a love of the art.

Student Workshops

After performing, our team moves into intimate hands-on workshops where students build the skills and confidence to create and perform their own work. Our experienced and celebrated educators use varied teaching methods including original exercises, multimedia, and creative collaboration. Project VOICE is dedicated to creating a supportive and safe environment where participants can experiment, practice, and polish their work. Workshops are tailored to your student’s needs – whether beginners, experts, or somewhere in between. Project VOICE workshops encourage people to engage with the world around them and use spoken word poetry as an instrument through which they can explore and better understand their community, their society, and ultimately themselves.
